Pugh had been listed as the wanted suspect in an ISPERN dispatch initiated by the Island Lake Police Department for domestic battery. Shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, he fled the area in a 2007 silver Nissan Maxima but was confronted by a Lake Zurich police officer at a gas station at Route 12 and Miller Road, according to police.

Pugh sped off down southbound Route 12 and was pursued by the officer, who terminated the pursuit after Pugh drove through the median due to the high volume of traffic.
