Police Arrest 7 for DUIs, Issue Violations During Thanksgiving Mobilization

The Lake Zurich Police Department joined law enforcement agencies across Illinois to take part in the Thanksgiving Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization.

The Lake Zurich Police Department issued dozens of seat belt citations and made seven driving while intoxicated arrests over its Thanksgiving Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization, according to a Lake Zurich Police Department press release. 

The mobilization included law enforcement agencies across Illinois that were focused on preventing highway fatalities by cracking down on unbuckled motorists and impaired drivers, according to the news release. 

During the mobilization, Lake Zurich Police issued:

  • 60 seat belt citations
  • 0 child car seat citations  
  • 7 DUI arrests
  • 1 felony arrest
  • 1 fugitives apprehended
  • 4 suspended/revoked licenses
  • 6 uninsured motorists
  • 14 speeding citations
  • 1 reckless driving citation
  • 2 drug arrests

While the mobilization may be over, the Lake Zurich police wants to remind residents about the importance of buckling up.

“Our officers are out all year long.  If you or your passengers are caught not wearing a seat belt, day or night, you will be cited for the safety violation,” said Sgt. Tracey D. Goodyear in the news release.
