Lake Zurich Police charged a 21-year-old Wheeling man with three felony counts of aggravated battery in the according to Commander David Bradstreet.
Maxwell S. Younger, of 699 Cherrywood Dr. Wheeling, was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated battery in a public place and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The charges are class 3 felonies and are punishable by two to five years in a state penitentiary. Younger's bond was set at $50,000. He is in custody of the Lake County Sheriff, said Bradstreet.
Younger invoked his 5th amendment rights and did not provide police with information regarding the incident, Bradstreet said.
The crime appears to be random. Bradstreet said they spoke to the 21-year-old victim who said he did not know the offender and the stabbing occurred after a confrontation in the parking lot.
Bradstreet said Younger has no prior police record. Police are still investigating the incident and are still interested in speaking to another person who may have been involved, Bradstreet said.
