Police Blotter: Vehicle Stolen; Grill Thrown Into Pool

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from July 19-22.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Criminal Damage

A resident reported July 18 that someone threw her lawnmower and charcoal grill into her pool on the 1100 block of Tracie Drive. Police are investigating.

A resident reported July 18 that someone pulled a mailbox post out of the ground on the 1100 block of Lexington Drive. Two additional mailboxes and posts also were pulled out of the ground in the area. Police are investigating.

Theft

A owner of a business on the 1100 block of Rose Road reported July 19 that someone stole a Chevrolet 3500 truck loaded with scrap brass from the business. The loss is estimated at $35,000. Police are investigating.

A man reported July 18 that someone stole a homemade lawn ornament valued at $400 from his lawn on the 500 block of Waterford Drive. Police are investigating.

Burglary

A woman reported July 20 that someone shattered the passenger-side rear window of her vehicle and removed her purse while her vehicle was parked on the 400 block of Whitney Road. The loss was estimated at $140. Police are investigating.
