Police Blotter: Unlawful Use Of Weapon; Suspended License

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from Aug. 16-18.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the . Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Unlawful Use Of Weapon

Yoan Mandujano, 27, of 1728 White St., Des Plaines, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon Aug. 17 after police officers were called to the 200 block of South Buesching Road for a dispute. Police said an individual reported that Mandujano refused to pay his taxi fare. Police searched him and found a switchblade. He was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 7 court date.

Traffic

Bryson D. Griffin, 28, of 22 West Grand Ave., Fox Lake, was charged with driving while license suspended Aug. 16 on the 400 block of South Rand Road. He was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 7 court date.

Minerva Hernandez, 39, of 45 Oak St., Lake Zurich, was charged with not having a valid drivers license Aug. 16 near Oak and Beauteau Streets. She was also cited for disregarding a stop sign. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 16 court date.

David L. Whatling, 25, of 172 Forest Unit A, Fox Lake, was charged with driving while license suspended Aug. 16 near Route 12 and Deerpath Road. He was also cited for having only one tail light and driving with no valid registration. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 5 court date.

Ariana Rivera-Pedraza, 21, of 941 Ravinia Terrace, Lake Zurich, was charged with not having a valid drivers license Aug. 17 near Route 22 and Ela Road. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 7 court date.

Criminal Damage

An individual reported Aug. 15 that someone painted words on various items at a park on Pheasant Ridge Drive. Damage was estimated at $500. Police are investigating.

A woman reported Aug. 15 that someone slashed two tires on her vehicle while it was parked on the 200 block of South Buesching Road. Damage was estimated at $100. Police are investigating.

Burglary

A woman reported Aug. 16 that two unknown men ran from her residence after opening the door on her vehicle parked on the 100 block of Crescent Road. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. Police are investigating.
