Police Blotter: Underage Drinking, DUI Arrests

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests and crimes from March 17 to March 19.

Social Hosting

Matthew P. Hynes, 19, of 512 Braemar Lane, Lake Zurich, was charged with social hosting March 17 after police said he hosted an underage drinking party at his residence. He also was cited with unlawful consumption of an alcoholic beverage by a minor. He was issued an April 27 court date. Three other individuals were cited with unlawful consumption of an alcoholic beverage by a minor, including: Kristen D. Loda, 20, of 852 Springfield Drive, Roselle; Bradley M. Karlinsky, 20, of 476 Thorndale Drive, Buffalo Grove; and Joseph C. Silverman, 20, of 1528 Sumter Drive, Long Grove.

DUI

Robert J. Murphy, 39, of 280 Linden Road, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol March 19 near Route 12 and Evanston Terrace. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending an April 16 court date.

Joshua A. Widmer, 26, of 5250 N. Knoxville Ave., No. 503, Peoria, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol March 17 near Route 12 and Paulus Park. He also was cited with texting while driving, improper lane use and driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending an April 16 court date.

Tyrone T. Christmas, 28, of 722 E. Constitution Drive, No. 6, Palatine, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol March 17 near Route 12 and Miller Road. He also was cited with improper lane use and driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending an April 16 court date.

Drugs

Kenneth C. Weidner, 22, of 1270 N. Sterling Ave., Palatine, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis March 16 on the 200 block of South Rand Road. He also was cited with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an April 13 court date.

Traffic

Maximiliano Abarca, 18, of 109 Meadowdale Court, Apt. 102, Carpentersville, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license March 16 near Route 22 and Old Rand Road. He also was cited with having illegally tinted front side windows. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an April 20 court date.

Retail Theft

Kathleen A. Cozzi, 50, of 950 Ravinia Terrace, Lake Zurich, was charged with retail theft March 18 on the 700 block of West Main Street. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an April 16 court date.

Theft

A man reported March 17 that someone stole a desktop computer from his home on the 500 block of Braemar Lane. The loss was estimated at $4,000.
