Police Blotter: Traffic, DUI Arrests; Cars Burglarized

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Sept. 2-7.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the . Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Alcohol

Walter V. Weinert, 64, of 903 Lincoln Ave., Fox River Grove, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sept. 1 near Route 22 and Hewes Drive. He also was cited with driving with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane use. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 3 court date.

Editor's Note: The charges against Marissa A. Bertolini have been dropped. Marissa A. Bertolini, 22, of 210 East Ryan Court, Arlington Heights, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sept. 2 on the 1000 block of South Rand Road. She also was cited with driving with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08, failure to wear a seat belt when required, illegal transportation of open alcohol and improper lane use. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 3 court date.

Jessica R. Horn, 32, of 22W409 Birchwood Drive, Glen Ellyn, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sept. 3 near Route 12 and June Terrace. She also was cited with improper lane use and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 3 court date.

Rick S. Drochak, 31, of 128 South Sheridan, McHenry, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sept. 3 at a traffic safety checkpoint on the 400 block of Whitney Road. He also was cited with driving with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 26 court date.

Traffic

Eduardo F. Perez, 21, of 420 North Main St. No. 3, Wauconda, was charged with no valid driver’s license Sept. 2 at a traffic safety checkpoint on the 400 block of Whitney Road. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 7 court date.

Diego A. Cid-Trujillo, 22, of 12 Craig Terrace, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license revoked Sept. 2 at a traffic safety checkpoint on the 400 block of Whitney Road. He also was cited with operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 5 court date.

Christopher R. Stanley, 25, of 109 Village Drive, Northlake, was charged with driving while license suspended Sept. 3 near North Old Rand Road and Main Street. He also was cited with speeding. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 7 court date.

Hugo Alonso-Garcia, 33, of 900 Glencoe Terrace, No. 1, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license suspended Sept. 3 at a traffic safety checkpoint on the 400 block of Whitney Road. He also was cited with operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 7 court date.

Beth M. Tabbert, 37, of 34220 Blue Stone Road, Round Lake, was charged with no valid driver’s license Sept. 3 at a traffic safety checkpoint on the 400 block of Whitney Road. She also was cited with operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 7 court date.

Kimberly A. Kardys, 47, of 828 Chasefield Lane, Crystal Lake, was charged with driving while license suspended Sept. 5 near Route 12 and Honey Lake Road. She also was cited with operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 5 court date.
 
Bridget B. Best, 49, of 2802 East Bridleway Court, Carpentersville, was charged with driving while license suspended Sept. 6 near Route 12 and Cuba Road. She also was cited with failure to wear a seat belt when required. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 7 court date.

Retail theft

Michelle L. Patras, 40, of 141 Coolidge Ave., Barrington, was charged with retail theft Sept. 1 on the 700 block of Route 22. She was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 7 court date.

A business owner reported Sept. 1 that someone stole several books from a business on the 300 block of South Rand Road. Police found the books in a nearby abandoned vehicle. Police are investigating.

Warrant

Diego A. Cid-Trujillo, 22, of 12 Craig Terrace, Lake Zurich, was arrested Sept. 2 on a Lake County warrant for failure to appear. He was released after posting $2,575 bond pending a Sept. 9 court date.

Burglary

A man reported Sept. 2 that someone stole his cell phone dock with charger, GPS, radio transmitter, iPod and Bluetooth speaker from his vehicle while it was parked on the 300 block of Thistle Lane. Officers found no signs of forced entry. The loss was estimated at $810. Police are investigating.

A man reported Sept. 1 that someone stole a laptop from his vehicle while it was parked on the 1000 block of Partridge Lane. The loss is estimated at $660. Police are investigating.
