Police Blotter: Traffic Arrests; iPod Stolen

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Feb. 7 to Feb. 10.

DUI

Vitalij Katerynchuk, 47, of 575 Ripplebrook Lane, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving under the influence Feb. 9 on the 1300 block of Coral Reef Way. He also was cited with driving while license revoked. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a March 5 court date.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Garrett K. Rankin, 18, of 5 Prospect Road, Lake Zurich, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a March 5 court date.

Traffic

Alejandro Rios, 19, of 1921 S. 51st Ave., Cicero, was charged with driving while license suspended Feb. 10 near Route 12 and June Terrace. He also was cited with operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a March 7 court date.

Janusz M. Feret, 30, of 4311 N. Melvina St., Chicago, was charged with driving while license revoked Feb. 8 near Route 12 and Cuba Road. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a March 16 court date.

Efrin Cardanal, 20, of 1904 E. Lilac Drive, Palatine, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license Feb. 6 near South Old Rand Road and America Court. Cardanal also was cited with operating a vehicle without valid registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. Cardanal was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a March 16 court date.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

An individual reported Feb. 8 that someone stole an iPod from an unlocked vehicle on the 100 block of Ramblewood Lane. The item was valued at $310. Police are investigating.
