Police Blotter: Theft of $2000 rings; Cannabis Possession

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

  

THEFT

A resident reported, on July 8, that three rings were stolen from his residence in the 100 block of Lake Zurich Drive during a party.  The estimated loss is approximately $2,000 dollars and the matter is under investigation.

POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

Deborah R. Foreman, 24, 1200 Churchill Court, Buffalo Grove,  was arrested for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia pursuant to the investigation of a suspicious vehicle at 195 South Rand Road, at 1:43 a.m., July 12.  Foreman was charged with disorderly conduct.  Foreman was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of Aug. 3 

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS            

Colin M. Williams, 23, who resides at 557 Cedar Lane in Lombard, was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis on Route 12 at Deerpath Road, at 1:16 a.m., July 9.  Williams was stopped for improper lane usage.  Williams was charged with Improper Lane Usage, No Rear Registration Light and Disorderly Conduct - Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.  Williams was issued a Mundelein court date of Aug. 3 and released on a $120 personal recognizance bond.  

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A person reported someone used a rock to damage the windshield on his vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the driveway in the 100 block of Golfview Road during the overnight hours, July 4.  The complainant was unable to provide any suspect information. 

On July 3, police received a report that someone damaged the front window of the building in the 100 block of South Old Rand Road during the overnight hours.  The complainant believed the damage was caused by a pellet or BB.  The complainant was unable to provide any suspect information.  

Officers discovered a damaged window in the 100 block of South Old Rand Road, July 3.  It is believed the damage was caused by a pellet or BB over the weekend.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report that someone threw a rock through the front window of Quarter Master Industries, 510 Telser Road, during the overnight hours, July 5.  The matter is under investigation.  

TRAFFIC ARRESTS (No Valid)                  

Daniel Martinez, 19, 213 South Main Street #2, Wauconda, was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at North Old Rand Road, at 12:18 p.m., July 9.  Martinez was charged with operating a vehicle with expired registration, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving without a valid driver’s license.  Martinez was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of Aug. 3.

Victor Cruz, 21, 730 Court of Birch, Vernon Hills, was arrested pursuant to the investigation of a traffic crash in the 300 block of Telser Road, July 3, at 3:14 p.m.  Cruz was charged with failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving without a valid driver’s license.  Cruz was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of Aug. 3.

 

TRAFFIC ARREST (Suspended)  

George E. Thompson, 42, 535 Willow Road, Wauconda,  was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop in the 900 block of North Rand Road, July 3, at 6:45 p.m.  Thompson was charged with operating a vehicle with no valid registration, improper use of registration, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving with a suspended driver’s license.  Thompson was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of Aug. 3

 

TRAFFIC ARREST (DWLS)                                 

Reid J. Klein, 38, who resides at 14 Manchester Lane in Vernon Hills, was arrested for driving while driver’s license is suspended on Route 22 at Knox Park Road, 5:23 p.m., July 6.  Klein was stopped for speeding.  Klein was charged with Speeding, No Valid Registration and Driving While Driver’s License is suspended.  Reid was issued a Mundelein court date of Aug. 3 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.
