Police Blotter: Tailgaiting, Lane Changing Results in Reckless Driving Arrest

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

 

Theft

Police received a report on May 29, that unknown subject(s) stole an I-beam from behind a business in the 600 block of South Rand Road.  The complainant provided a description of the offending truck.  Loss is estimated at $1,000.  This matter is under investigation. 

Police took a report, on May 29, that someone removed an Apple iPhone and $135 from a locker in the 1000 block of Old McHenry Road.  This matter is under investigation.

A business representative reported on May 25 that five fraudulent returns were made to their business in the 700 block of West Highway 22 for a total loss of $2,711.50.  This matter is under investigation. 

 

Traffic Arrest 

Luis A. Diaz-Romero, 29, 679 Clover Road Wauconda,  was arrested for DWLS pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Wynstone Drive, at 8:55 p.m., May 29.  Diaz-Romero was charged with operating a vehicle with expired registration, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving with a suspended driver’s license.  Diaz-Romero was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of July 6.

 Hector Luna-Pedraza, 30, 338 Grand Avenue Lake Zurich, was arrested for driving with no valid driver’s license pursuant to a traffic stop on Midlothian Road at Enterprise Parkway on May 28.  Luna-Pedraza was charged with passing when prohibited and driving without a valid driver’s license.  Luna-Pedraza was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of July 6.

 

Reckless Driving 

Jeffrey D. Johnson, 25, 1362 Jefferson Street #203 Des Plaines, was arrested for reckless driving pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Cuba Road, at 2:32 p.m., May 28.  An off-duty officer observed Johnson tailgating other vehicles, changing lanes multiple times, and  improperly passing vehicles.  Johnson was charged with reckless driving.  Johnson was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of July 6.

Warrant Served                                         

 Rad E. Rodgers, 22, 114 Maple Street, McHenry, was arrested on a valid arrest warrant during a traffic stop on Clover Hill Lane at Route 12.  The warrant was for failure-to-appear issued by McHenry County.  Rodgers was transferred to the McHenry County Jail after he was unable to post $700.

Criminal Damage                                       

Police received a report that unknown subject(s) threw a piece of concrete through a window at a business in the 900 block of Ensell Road during the overnight hours, May 25.  Damage is estimated at $2500.  This matter is under investigation.

We've been working with the police to make sure people know where they can park if the Pualus lot is full, and we're getting some signs to direct people to the alternate parking. Wow, this story really shows how selfish some people are now. The person who complained to theRead More police better hope he/she never needs any help or compassion from anyone or any organization. They don't deserve it. You were trying to have a great event and some hater couldn't put earplugs in their ears for one night of their life if they didn't like the noise. So sad. Way to go for your efforts though! Bob
