Police Blotter: Stolen Sunglasses, DUI And A Warrant Arrest

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from May 21-23.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DUI

Jason L. Mintun, 26, of 555 Deepwoods Drive No. 2B, Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 19 on the 100 block of Carolyn Court. He was also cited for driving with a BAC over .08, driving without a valid drivers license, failing to signal when required and illegal transportation of open alcohol. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 27 court date.

Ryan P. Gilger, 28, of 2145 S. Tonne Drive No. 107, Arlington Heights, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 21 near Route 12 and South Old Rand Road. He was also cited for driving with a BAC over .08, improper lane usage, texting while driving and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 27 court date.

Amy L. Gerhke, 42, of 1201 N. Chapel Hill Road, McHenry, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 21 near Route 12 and South Wynstone Drive. She was also cited for improper lane usage. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 27 court date.

Matthew R. Coover, 30, of 2540 N. Halsted Unit F, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 22 near Route 12 and Pheasant Ridge Road. He was also cited for disobeying a traffic control signal and driving while drivers license is revoked. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 27 court date.

Drugs

Michael L. Votanek, 22, of 65 Cedar Ridge, Lake Barrington Shores, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia May 20 near Route 12 and Honey Lake Road. He was also cited for operating a vehicle with no rear registration light, illegal transportation of open alcohol and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 20 court date.

Traffic Violations

Sonia DeGarcia, 37, of 683 Yale, Island Lake, was charged with driving without a valid drivers license May 19 near Midlothian and Oakwood Roads. She was also cited for improper lane usage. She was released after posting $150 cash and given a June 17 court date.

Sean K. Diebold, 33, of 18 Yardley Lane, Schaumburg, was charged with driving while license suspended May 20 near Route 12 and Ela Road. He was also cited for failure to wear a safety belt when required. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 1 court date.

Alfredo A. Mondragon, 44, of 434 W. Elmhurst, Wood Dale, was charged with driving while license suspended May 21 near Route 12 and Ela Road. He was also cited for having a defective windshield. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 1 court date.

Bradley T. Bowling, 23, of 1915 Carl Drive, Round Lake Beach, was charged with driving while license suspended May 21 near Quentin and Ensell Roads. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 1 court date.

Warrant

David J. Nedvar, 24, of 604 Sycamore Lane, Round Lake, was arrested May 21 near Route 22 and Ela Road on a Lake County warrant for failure to appear. His bond was set at $20,000 and he was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing.

Burglary

An individual reported May 22 that an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the 200 block of Rosehall Lane and stole sunglasses valued at $100. Police are investigating the matter.
