Police Blotter: Numerous Thefts, Car Burglaries

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

 

TRAFFIC ARREST (DWLS)                                          

Lyndsey B. Hudson, 18, who resides at 53 Oak Hill Colony Apt #12 in Fox Lake, was arrested for driving while driver’s license is suspended in the 200 block of South Rand Road in Lake Zurich, Jan. 24.   Hudson was charged with Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended.  Hudson was issued a Waukegan court date of Feb. 11 and released after posting $200 cash bond.

On Jan. 21, Fred Castro, 33, 96 South Cornerstone Drive, Volo, was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at June Terrace.  Castro was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license.  Castro was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of March 1. 

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

Michael M. Ramirez, 21, who resides at 2831 West Glen Flora Avenue #211 in Waukegan,  was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis on Church Street at Oakwood Road in Lake Zurich, Jan. 26.  Ramirez was charged with Speeding, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.  Ramirez was issued a Mundelein court date of March 1 and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond. 

 

BURGLARY-MOTOR VEHICLE

On Jan. 23, a person reported that someone removed her purse from her vehicle while it was parked in the 800 block of South Rand Road.  The complainant was unable to provide any suspect information.  

Police received a second report of a purse taken from a vehicle at 800 South Rand Road, that day. 

Also on Jan. 23, a woman reported someone removed her purse from her vehicle while it was parked in the 1000 block of Old McHenry Road.  The complainant was unable to provide any suspect information. 

 

RETAIL THEFT                               

Molly E. Janschutz, 21, 452 Grand Avenue, Lake Zurich, was arrested for retail theft at 675 North Rand Road, Lake Zurich, at 12:39 p.m., Jan. 23.  Janschutz was charged with one count of retail theft.  Janschutz was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of March 1. 

IPAD THEFT                                    

 A man reported, on Jan .23, that he realized he left his Apple iPad 2 in his room at the Holiday Inn Express after he checked out.  Employees from Holiday Inn Express could not find the iPad.  

MISSING WEDDING RINGS                                   

A resident reported, Jan. 23, that his wife’s wedding rings were removed from a case in their bedroom in the 200 block of Sunset Court.  The complainant provided possible suspect information.  This matter is under investigation.  

THEFT OF SERVICES-CAB FARE                                     

 On Jan. 21, at 4:38 a.m., Jeffery W. Kosatka, 47, address unknown, failed to pay cab fare after being transported to the 600 block of Lions Drive.  Kosatka was arrested and charged with theft of services.  Kosatka was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of Feb. 20.  

THEFT OF TRAILER LIGHTS                                           

On Jan. 22, a man reported that someone removed lights from two trailers parked in the 400 block of Telser Road.  The complainant was unable to provide any suspect information or a timeframe for the theft.
