Police Blotter: Medication, Baby Formula Stolen; Traffic Arrests

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Jan. 24-27.

Drugs

Carolyn M. Brown, 34, of 4917 Roberts Road, McHenry, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis Jan. 24 near Route 12 and Cuba Road. She also was cited with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Feb. 27 court date.

Traffic

Alfonso Lopez, 24, 216 Pleasant Road, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license suspended Jan. 26 near Lake and West Main streets. He also was cited with operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a March 2 court date.

Bridget E. Rowley, 22, of 1085 Partridge Road, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license suspended Jan. 25 near South Old Rand and Surryse roads. Rowley also was cited with failure to wear a safety belt. Rowley was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a March 2 court date.

Julia D. Bristow, 55, of 89 Cedar Ridge Road, Barrington, was charged with driving while license suspended Jan. 23 on the 200 block of South Rand Road. She also was cited with failure to wear a safety belt. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Feb. 17 court date.

Eduardo J. Cortez, 21, of 123 West Hawthorne, Round Lake Beach, was charged with driving with no valid driver’s license Jan. 23 near Route 22 and West Main Street. He also was cited with having improper lighting and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a March 2 court date.

Retail Theft

Samuel J. Urbach, 37, of 885 Hollyway, Palatine, was charged with felony retail theft Jan. 24 on the 600 block of South Rand Road. Police said Urbach took two tool kits valued at $775 without paying for them. He was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing in Waukegan.

Warrant

Edward J. Digangi, 53, of 5N339 Bunker Terrace, Itasca, was arrested Jan. 23 on a warrant for violation of an order of protection. He posted cash bond pending a Feb. 7 court date.

Theft

An individual reported Jan. 26 that someone stole a package of Prilosec and six cans of baby formula on the 300 block of South Rand Road. The items were valued at $180. Police are investigating.

An individual reported Jan. 26 that someone stole two packages of Prilosec valued at $48 from the 300 block of South Rand Road. Police are investigating. 

Criminal Damage

A man reported Jan. 24 that someone slashed all four tires on his vehicle while it was parked on the 200 block of South Buesching Road. The damage was estimated at $600. Police are investigating.
