Police Blotter: Man Flees Traffic Stop, Caught in Palatine

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests from Oct. 11-14.

Alcohol/Drugs

Saul Lupian, 29, of 24 Golfview Road, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Oct. 13 on the 200 block of Pine Tree Road. He was also cited for driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08, driving with a suspended drivers license and illegal transportation of open alcohol. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 14 court date.

Adam J. Zawilenski, 20, of 4 Juel Drive, Hawthorn Woods, was charged with possession of cannabis Oct. 14 following the investigation of a suspicious vehicle on the 800 block of Harvest Drive. He was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 7 court date.

Traffic

Jose N. Castillo, 18, of 62 Park Ave., Lake Zurich, was charged with failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash following an accident Oct. 13 at Route 22 and West Main Street. He was also cited for driving without a valid drivers license. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 4 court date.

Humberto Garcia-Martinez, 32, of 62 W. Anderson, Aurora, was charged with driving without a valid drivers license Oct. 10 near South Old Rand and Deerpath Roads. He was also cited for failure to wear a seatbelt. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 4 court date.

Tahir Mohyuddin, 29, of 2190 Vermont St., Rolling Meadows, was charged with aggravated fleeing or eluding a peace officer Oct. 12 near Route 12 and Old Rand Road. A random registration check revealed that Mohyuddin has a suspended drivers license. Police said he then attempted to flee the area and was found in the 900 block of Kings Row in Palatine. He was cited for driving while drivers license is suspended, speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, violation of classification, failure to signal, failure to yield upon approaching an emergency vehicle and speeding 52 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. He was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing.
