Police Blotter: Identity Theft, DUIS and Drug Possession

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

WARRANT ARREST / IDENTITY THEFT                                        

On Sept. 4, Giovanni G. Avere, 78, who resides at 241 W. Main Street #106 in Lake Zurich,  was arrested on a warrant at 241 W. Main Street #106 in Lake Zurich. The warrant is out of Lake County for identity theft.  The warrant number is W12N2593 and the bond amount was set at $10,000, which 10% applies.  Avere was unable to post bond and was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing. 

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

At 2:01 p.m., Sept. 4, Anthony M. Klimara, 45, who resides at 38325 Drexel in Antioch, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance in the 800 block of  S. Rand Road in Lake Zurich.  Klimara was charged with Following Too Close, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Klimara was transported to Waukegan for a bond hearing.

Jackie D. Aikin, 47, who resides at 1108 Lilly Lake Road in McHenry, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at S. Old Rand Road in Wauconda, at 10:18 p.m., Sept. 6.  Aikin was charged with Expired Driver’s License, Driving Under the Influence and Driving Under the Influence with a B.A.C. over .08.  Aikin was issued a Waukegan court date of Oct. 1 and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.

Michael A. Azzano, 33, who resides at 6501 Lakewood Drive in Cary,  was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at Pheasant Ridge Drive in Lake Zurich, at 8:12 p.m., Sept. 7.  Azzano was charged with Expired Registration, Driving Under the Influence and Driving Under the Influence with a B.A.C. over .08.  Azzano was issued a Waukegan court date of Oct. 1 and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.

Daniel T. Sieja, 54, who resides at 1605 Amy Avenue in Glendale Heights, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at Deerpath Road in Lake Zurich, at 8:12 p.m., Sept. 4.  Sieja was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence and Driving Under the Influence with a B.A.C. over .08.  Sieja was issued a Waukegan court date of Oct. 1 and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond. 

 

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY                                                              

On Sept. 6, a complainant reported an unknown subject(s) damaged her vehicle by removing the air vent from the front bumper while it was parked in the 900 block of Holly Circle in Lake Zurich.  The estimated damage is unknown at this time.  This matter is pending investigation. 

On Sept. 6, a complainant reported an unknown subject(s) damaged his vehicle by using a blunt object to break the windshield while it was parked in the 700 block of Oakwood Road in Lake Zurich.  The estimated damage is valued at $400.  This matter is pending investigation. 

Also on Sept. 6, a complainant reported an unknown subject(s) damaged his vehicle by using a sharp object to scratch the paint while it was parked in the 600 block of South Rand Road in Lake Zurich.  The estimated damage is unknown at this time.  This matter is pending investigation.
