Police Blotter: I-Pods, GPS Units Stolen From Cars

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

 

 

Car Burglaries:

Police receved the following reports of burglary to vehicles:

 June 28, in the 500 block of Ripplebrook Court in Lake Zurich, an I-Pod, Garmin GPS unit and prescription sunglasses were taken.  The estimated loss is valued at $1,200.

June 28, 900 block of South Rand Road in Lake Zurich, an I-Pod and Garmin GPS unit.  The estimated loss is valued at $250. 

June 26, in the 100 block of Crescent Road.  Total loss was estimated at $170. 

Garage Burglary

Police received a report on June 24, that someone entered a garage in the 100 block of E. Harbor Drive and removed a bicycle.  The estimated loss is unknown at this time.  This matter is pending investigation.  

Retail Theft

On June 24, at 8:43 p.m., police took a report a female subject remove merchandise from their business in the 600 block of North Rand Road without paying for the items.  The estimated loss is valued at $25.  This matter is pending further investigation.      

 

On June 26, a person reported an unknown subject left 1285 South Rand Road without paying for 4 cartons of cigarettes and an additional 8 packs of cigarettes.  Value of the theft is $257.56.  The matter is pending investigation at this time. 

 

On June 29, at 6:49 p.m., Leroy T. Wright, 20, of 3642 Florida Avenue in Gurnee, and Abdul O. Rosenje, 19 of 806 Belvidere Road in Waukegan, were arrested for retail theft at 345 S. Rand Road in Lake Zurich.  The estimated loss is valued at $139.71.  Both subjects were charged with Retail Theft, Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Minor and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  They were issued a Waukegan court date of Aug. 6 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bonds.

 

Theft

A resident reported on June 29 that an unknown subject(s) removed the ground wire from his air conditioner unit without permission in the 600 block of Burr Oak Drive in Lake Zurich.  The estimated loss is valued at $10.  This matter is pending investigation. 

 

Criminal Damage to Property

Police received the following reports of criminal amage to property:

June 27--an unknown subject(s) damaged a vehicle by pouring a chemical on it without permission while it was parked in the 1100 block of Country Club in Lake Zurich.  The estimated loss is unknown at this time.  This matter is pending investigation. 

June 27—Someone damaged a boat by cutting the ignition wires while it was docked on the lake at South Shore Lane and Robertson Avenue in Lake Zurich.  The estimated loss is valued at $300.

June 30-- Someone damaged a mailbox by igniting an incendiary device inside of it in the 200 block of Denberry Court in Lake Zurich. The estimated damaged is valued at $50.

June 29—Someone scratched a vehicle while it was parked in the 200 block of S. Buesching Road in Lake Zurich.  The estimated damage is unknown at this time 

June 29—Someone damaged a neighbor’s mailbox in the 100 block of E. Harbor Drive in Lake Zurich.  The estimated damage is valued at $150.00.
