Police Blotter: Home Burglarized; Traffic Arrests

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Nov. 12-14.

Alcohol

Joseph M. Konicek, 26, of 340 Cherry Valley Road, Vernon Hills, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 12 on the 400 block of Whitney Road. He also was cited with driving with a blood-alcohol content over .08, not wearing a seat belt and driver’s license not on person. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 12 court date.

Traffic

Camerino Diaz, 37, of 123 Wilson Ave., Apt. A, Wauconda, was charged with driving while license suspended Nov. 11 near Route 22 and June Terrace. He also was cited with disobeying a traffic control device. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

Silvia Villalba-Hernandez, 27, of 245 W. Main St., Unit 111, Lake Zurich, was charged with not having a valid driver’s license Nov. 12 near South Old Rand Road and Mohawk Trail. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 2 court date.

Saul Baylon-Flores, 22, of 1075 Larkdale Road, Wauconda, was charged with driving while license suspended Nov. 14 near Route 12 and Cuba Road. He also was cited with failure to dim headlights when required and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 7 court date.

Burglary

A man reported Nov. 12 that someone removed the stereo from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked on the 100 block of East Harbor Drive. The loss was estimated at $1,060. Police are investigating.

Residents reported Nov. 12 that an unknown person distracted them while another person entered their home on the 200 block of Washo Drive. The residents are unsure whether anything was removed from their home. The subjects, described as Hispanic men between the ages of 30 and 50, were driving a tan van. Police are investigating.
