Police Blotter: Garage Burglarized; Tires Slashed
The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests and crimes from March 3 through March 7.

DUI
Tomasz M. Niemiec, 24, of 8515 W. Rascher Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol March 4 near Route 12 and Evanston. He also was cited for speeding and driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending an April 2 court date.
Traffic
Hilda Hernandez, 21, of 22162 W. Route 22, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license suspended March 2 near Route 22 and Old Mill Grove Road. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an April 4 court date.
Michael A. Vertucci, 43, of 801 Oak Park, No. 7, Johnsburg, was charged with driving while license suspended March 5 near Route 12 and Rugby Road. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an April 13 court date.
Criminal Damage
A woman reported March 2 that someone damaged a tire on her vehicle while it was parked on the 600 block of West Highway 22. Damage was estimated at $150. Police are investigating.
A woman reported March 5 that someone cut all the tires on her vehicle while it was parked on the 200 block of South Buesching Road. Damage was estimated at $400.
A man reported March 6 that his vehicle was damaged while he was driving on the 300 block of Church Street. The man told police that someone in another vehicle threw something at his car, causing a dent.
Burglary
A man reported March 5 that someone stole change and a pair of sunglasses from his unlocked car while it was parked on the 500 block of Regency Drive. The loss was estimated at $22.
A man reported March 6 that someone entered his garage on the 100 block of Willow Terrace and stole many items, including bicycles, tools and personal papers. The loss was estimated at $800.
