Police Blotter: Assault Charge, DUI

Alcohol
Patrick D. Schar, 49, of 930 S. McKinley Ave., No. 3A, Arlington Heights, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Oct. 15 near South Old Rand Road and Pheasant Ridge Drive. He also was cited with driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, operating an uninsured vehicle, disobeying a stop sign and operating a vehicle with improper lighting. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 14 court date.

Traffic
Cesar Almaras, 27, of 12 Craig Terrace, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license revoked Oct. 14 near West Main Street and Robertson Avenue. He also was cited with disobeying a traffic control device and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 4 court date.
Caciano Ochoa-Ortiz, 25, of 7910 Hill Drive, Wonder Lake, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license Oct. 14 near Route 12 and the Canadian National Railway tracks. He also was cited with using a wireless telephone in a construction area. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 4 court date.

Assault
Ryan A. Messel, 22, of 898 S. Rand Road, No. 5, Lake Zurich, was charged with assault Oct. 15 on the 800 block of South Rand Road. Police said he tried to punch someone after a dispute. He also was cited with disorderly conduct. He was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 1 court date.
