Police Blotter: DUIs, Traffic Arrests

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Traffic Arrest (DUI)             

Linda M. Iverson, 53, 21283 West Pepper Road, Lake Zurich, was stopped for speeding and not yielding to an emergency vehicle, at 11:59 p.m., March 23, at Route 22 at South Old Rand Road.  Iverson was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08, speeding, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and operating an uninsured vehicle.  Iverson was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of April 22. 

Megan E. McElwee, 22, 3312 Greenwich Lane, Island Lake, was stopped for improper lane usage, at Route 12 north of Miller Road, 2:28 a.m., March 24.  McElwee was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08, operating an uninsured vehicle and improper lane usage.  Mcelwee was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of May 6.

Traffic Arrest (Suspended)

Michelle L. Bertoncini, 38, 6518 North Hixon, Chicago,  was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at June Terrace.  Bertoncini was charged with operating a vehicle with no rear registration light and driving with a suspended driver’s license.  Bertoncini was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of May 3.

Traffic Arrest (No Valid)                 

Andres Bustos-Medina, 30, 406 Park Street, Mundelein, was arrested during a traffic stop on Lions Drive at East Main Street, March 22.  Bustos-Medina was charged with disobeying a traffic control device, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving without a valid driver’s license.  Bustos-Medina was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of May 3.

Burglary                                

Police took a report on March 22 that an oven was stolen from an unoccupied residence in the 300 block of Pebblecreek Drive.  The matter is under investigation. 

Warrant Service                   

Peter Wall , 22, 1325 Douglas Road, Montgomery,  was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Cuba Road on a Kane County warrant for a liquor violation.  Wall was released after posting $330. with a court date of April 19 in Kane County.
