Police Blotter: DUIS, Marijuana and Warrants Served

On June 23, at 5:43 p.m., Nickolas J. Podsada, 26, who resides at 1718 W. Northwest Hwy in Arlington Heights, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at Miller Road in Lake Zurich.  Podsada was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Endangering the Life of a Child and Driving Under the Influence with a B.A.C. of .08 or More.  Podsada was issued a Waukegan court date of July 23. Posada was also arrested on a warrant for a conditional release violation.  The warrant was out of the Cook County Sheriff’s Department and the warrant number is W10W2880.  The bond amount was set at $50,000 which 10% applies.  Podsada was unable to post the necessary cash bond and was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing. 

 Benito Lopez, 26,  of 960 Millbrook Drive, Lake Zurich, was arrested for driving under the influence on Old Mill Grove Road at Route 22 in Lake Zurich, June 23 at 8:36 p.m.  Lopez was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Disobeyed Stop Line at Steady Red Traffic Light, No Valid Driver’s License, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Driving Under the Influence with a B.A.C. of .08 or More.  Lopez was issued a Waukegan court date of July 23 and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.

On June 21, at 4:09 p.m., Hannah L. Voyta, 19, of 1128 Route 53 in Long Grove, was arrested for driving under the influence in the 700 block of S. Rand Road.  Voyta drove her vehicle into a pond.  Voyta failed field sobriety testing.  Voyta was charged with Driving off Roadway, Illegal Transportation of an Alcoholic Beverage, Unlawful Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage as a Minor, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving Under the Influence of the Combined Alcohol and or Drugs.  Voyta was issued a Waukegan court date of July 23 and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond

 

Warrant Service                                    

  Donald Jaarats, 45, 26346 West Highway 22 Barrington, was arrested on two valid arrest warrants in the 700 block of South Rand Road, June 20.  One warrant was for criminal trespass to residence issued by Lake County. The other warrant was for failure-to-appear issued by Cook County.  Jaarats was transported to the Lake County Jail to await a bond hearing.    

 

Possession of Cannabis/Paraphernalia               

On June 21, at 12:19 a.m., Brian P. Ronayne, 27, 1173 Thorndale Lane Lake Zurich, was arrested for possession of cannabis pursuant to a traffic stop on South Old Rand Road at Cardinal Drive.  Ronayne’s vehicle smelled like burnt cannabis.  Ronayne was charged with operating a vehicle with expired registration, driving with an expired driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis.  Ronayne was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of July 16.
