Police Blotter: DUIs and Suspended Licenses

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

 Traffic Arrest (DUI)                      

Michael G. Schmoeller, 19, 820 Glenn Street, Palatine, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in the 1100 block of South Old Rand Road, March 29.  Schmoeller was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08.  Schmoeller was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of May 6.

Laura E. Lightfine, 27, 615 West Miller Road, North Barrington, was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Rugby Road, March 30.   Lightfine was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08, texting while driving and improper lane usage.  Lightfine was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of April 22.

Aricela Costilla, 32, who resides at 406 Lauren Lane in Island Lake, was arrested for driving while driver’s license is suspended on Route 12 at Cuba Road in Lake Zurich, March 31.   Costilla was charged with Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended.  Costilla was issued a Mundelein court date of May 3 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond. 

Jonathan J. Colesby, 21, who resides at 9147 Lynwood Drive in Oak Lawn, was arrested for driving while driver’s license is suspended on Route 12 at Cuba Road in Lake Zurich, March 31.   Colesby was charged with Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended.  Colesby was issued a Mundelein court date of May 3 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond. 

Criminal Damage                            

Police received a report, March 29, that someone punctured all four tires on a vehicle parked in the 200 block of South Buesching Road.  The complainant provided suspect information.  This matter is under investigation.
