Police Blotter: DUIs and Driving on Suspended License

THEFT                      

A resident of the 900 block Pheasant Ridge Drive in Lake Zurich reported that someone removed his Christmas sign on Dec. 22. This matter is pending further investigation. 

TRAFFIC ARREST (DWLS)                                              

Juan Silva, 34, who resides at 121 West Drive in Northlake, was arrested for driving while driver’s license suspended on Route 12 at Miller Road in Lake Zurich, at 4:46 a.m., Dec. 22.   Silva was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Illegal Transportation of Alcoholic Liquor and Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended.  Silva was issued a Mundelein court date of Feb. 1 and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond.  Silva was also served a warrant for traffic offenses and was able to post the necessary cash bond and was issued a new court date in McHenry County. 

TRAFFIC ARREST (DWLS)                                  

David Medina, 26, who resides at 1708 Lakeview Drive in Wheeling, was arrested for driving while driver’s license suspended on Route 12 at Cuba Road in Lake Zurich at 11:46 p.m., Dec. 22.  Medina was charged with Improper Lane Usage and Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended.  Medina was issued a Mundelein court date of Feb. 1 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.  

TRAFFIC ARREST (NO VALID)                          

Joshua I. Zarate, 20, who resides at 1122 Washington Avenue in Wauconda, was arrested for driving with no valid driver’s license on Route 12 at Honey Lake Road in Lake Zurich, at 5:49 p.m., Dec. 22.   Zarate was charged with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and No Valid Driver’s License.  Zarate was issued a Mundelein court date of Feb. 1 and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond. 

TRAFFIC ARREST (DUI)                                   

Christine M. Sasso, 42, who resides at 1565 Coral Reef Way in Lake Zurich, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at Cuba Road in Lake Zurich, at 10:09 p.m., Dec. 22.  Sasso was charged with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Illegal Transportation of Alcoholic Liquor, Endangering the Life of a Child and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Drugs.  Sasso was issued a Waukegan court date of Feb. 14 and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.

TRAFFIC ARREST (DUI)                                 

Donald J. McDade, 51, who resides at 9 Spring Street #G in Cary, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 22 at Cortland Drive in Lake Zurich, at 12:52 a.m., Dec. 23. McDade was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  McDade was issued a Waukegan court date of Jan. 28 and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.
