Police Blotter: DUI; Suspended Driver's License
The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from Aug. 9-10.
The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
Alcohol
Debra J. Yapelli, 52, of 32 Deer Point Drive, Hawthorn Woods, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Aug. 8 near Miller and Summit Roads. She also was cited with improper lane use, failure to signal when required, illegal transportation of alcohol, disobeying a stop sign and DUI over .08. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 12 court date.

Traffic
Ralph Novelo Jr., 45, 930 of Heartland Lane, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license suspended Aug. 10. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 16 court date.
Paulina Lachut, 25, of 5218 W. School Road, Chicago, was charged with no valid driver’s license Aug. 8 on the 300 block of Church Street. She also was cited with speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 2 court date.

Burglary
A man reported Aug. 8 that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a bottle of pills. Police are investigating.
