Police Blotter: DUI, Stolen Baby Formula And Possession Of Cannabis

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from May 16-19.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DUI

Michael D. Velasquez, 21, of 472 Newberry Court, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 18 near Route 12 and Wilmette Terrace. He was also cited for illegal squealing of tires and speeding. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 13 court date.

Johnny E. Foster, 61, of 1711 Dodge St., Evanston, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 19 on the 1000 block of South Rand Road. He was also cited for driving without a valid drivers license, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 and improper lane usage. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 20 court date.

Drugs

Timothy A. Dunkle, 22, OF 5726 S. Menard, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs May 17 near Route 12 and Miller Road. He was also cited for failure to wear a safety belt when required, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held for a bond hearing.

Edward T. Cohn, 46, of 1002 Keystone, Northbrook, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance May 16 near Routes 12 and 22. He was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle, failure to wear a safety belt when required and driving with a suspended drivers license. He was remanded to the Lake County Jail on $5,000 bond.

Traffic Violations

Marcelino Gonzalez-Barvadillo, 33, of 1112 S. Wells St. No. 4, Lake Geneva, WI, was charged with driving without a valid drivers license May 16 near Route 12 and Paulus Park. He was also cited for failure to wear a safety belt when required. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 1 court date.

Andrea E. Ocampo, 23, of 64 Pine Tree Row, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license revoked May 17 near Route 22 and East Main Street. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a June 3 court date.

Retail theft

Stephanie N. Osher, 28, of 1322 N. Walnut Drive, Round Lake Beach, was charged with retail theft May 17 at Dominick's, 345 S. Rand Road. An employee reported that Osher and an unidentified female subject allegedly stole $98 worth of baby formula. Osher was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a June 20 court date.
