Police Blotter: DUI, Retail Theft and Possession of Cannabis

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from May 14-16.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DUI

Daniel J. Gramm, 38, of 1294 Thorndale Lane, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 15 near Route 12 and Cuba Road. He was also cited for driving without headlights. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 13 court date.

Drugs

Harpreet S. Mann, 23, of 4623 S. Hampton Drive, Island Lake, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis May 14 near Routes 12  and 22. He was also cited for failure to wear a safety belt and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $150 cash bond pending a June 13 court date.

Gerardo G. Lopez, 19, of 4415 North Monitor, Chicago, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis May 15 near Cuba Road and Inglenook. When stopped, Lopez began eating the cannabis in an attempt to conceal it from the officer. He was also cited for not having a rear plate light, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing justice. He was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing.

Jason A. Hadamik, 34, of 1180 Nichols, Palatine, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia May 14 at Wal-Mart, 820 S. Rand Road. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a June 10 court date.

Traffic Violations

Matthew A. Claussen, 25, of 704 Courtland Ave., Park Ridge, was charged with driving while license suspended May 14 near Route 12 and Pheasant Ridge Road. He was also cited for failure to wear a safety belt. He was released in a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a June 1 court date.

Mario R. Andrade, 22, of 660 E. Liberty St. No. 3, Wauconda, was charged with not having a valid drivers license May 15 near Routes 12 and 22. He was also cited for speeding. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 6 court date.

Retail theft

Two individuals were charged with retail theft May 14 at Wal-Mart, 820 S. Rand Road. Arrested were: Tanya M. Kereszturi, 32, of 59 Morningside Drive, Roselle; and Michael J. Salas, 36, of 1553 Silver Lane No. 1A, Palatine. Both were released on $1,500 personal recognizance bonds pending a June 10 court date.

Criminal damage

A resident reported May 16 that the windshield was damaged on her vehicle while it was parked in the 200 block of Alpine Drive. Damage is estimated at $500. Police are investigating the matter.
