Police Blotter: DUI, Drugs, Failure to Secure Child

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

 

Traffic Arrest-DWLS                     

On Oct. 5, Steve R. Mathews, 30, who resides at 810 N. Pine Street, Sun Prairie, WI  was arrested on Route 12 at Quentin Road for Driving While License is Suspended. Mathews was issued citations for Driving while License is suspended, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and Failure to Secure a Child (under age 8).  He was released after being processed and signing a $2,000 I-Bond.  He is pending a Mundelein Branch Court appearance.

Traffic Arrest (DUI)

At 11:53 p.m., Oct.6, Rebecca S. Carney, 44, 425 South Vail Avenue, Arlington Heights was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Wooded Ridge Drive.  Carney was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of open alcohol and improper lane usage.  Carney was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of Nov. 5.

 

Possession of a Controlled Substance               

At 4:24 p.m., Oct. 3, Michael A. Mindy, 25, 508 Catalpa Drive Round Lake, was arrested for attempted unlawful possession of a controlled substance pursuant to a suspicious person report.  Mindy was charged with attempted unlawful possession of a controlled substance, because the drug was found near him, but not on him, according to Deputy Chief Kevin Finlon.  Mindy was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of Oct. 18. 

 

Criminal Damage                           

On Oct. 6, a complainant reported that someone forced open the rear door to a business in the 100 block of East Main Street during the overnight hours.  The complainant reported nothing missing.  Officers were unable to determine if anyone entered the business.  The complainant was unable to provide any suspect information. 

 

Burglary – Watercraft                   

On Oct. 6, a complainant reported that someone removed a gas can from his boat during the past two weeks.  The boat was anchored in the 300 block of North Old Rand Road.  The complainant was unable to provide any suspect information.
