Police Blotter: DUI, Drug Arrests

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Dec. 17-20.

Alcohol

Armando Lopez, 49, of 725 Brighton Circle, Port Barrington, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Dec. 20 near Miller Road and Route 12. He also was cited with driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, operating an uninsured vehicle, illegal transportation of open alcohol and improper lane use. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Jan. 9 court date.

Richard S. Lack, 42, of 11682 Beacon Ave., Huntley, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Dec. 16 near Robertson Avenue and West Main Street. He also was cited with operating an uninsured vehicle and speeding. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Jan. 23 court date.

Drugs

Two individuals were arrested during a traffic stop Dec. 18 on the 600 block of South Rand Road. Karol S. Rajski, 19, of 23587 North Field Road, Lake Zurich, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and no tail lights when required. Kevin M. Schaar, 19, of 1606 South Rouse, Apt B, Bozeman, Mont., was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis. Each was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

Traffic

Homero Vazquez, 28, of 139 S. 19th Ave., Maywood, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license Dec. 19 on the 1000 block of South Rand Road. He also was cited with operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on $200 cash bond pending a Jan. 20 court date. He also was arrested on a $7,500 Cook County warrant for failure to appear. He was turned over to Melrose Park police officers.

Theft

A resident reported Dec. 18 that someone stole an iPad from a home on the 400 block of Grand Avenue. The item was valued at $500. Police are investigating.
