Police Blotter: DUI, Driving While License Suspended

Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from April 30-May 6.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Traffic Violations

Cristobal A. Pena, 27, of 31 Lake St., Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license suspended April 29 on Route 22 at Beusching Road. He was also cited for failure to wear a safety belt. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a May 20 court date.

Angelina A. Bey, 33, of 2540 Ogden Ave. No. 335, Downers Grove, was charged with driving while license suspended May 3 on the 200 block of South Rand Road. She was also cited for having expired registration. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 1 court date.

Possession of Cannabis

Emil A. Szimeth, 26, of 2456 Evergreen Circle, McHenry, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis April 30 following a traffic stop on Route 12 at Golfview Road. He was also cited for failure to dim headlights when required and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a May 27 court date.

DUI

Tomas Ambrazas, 42, of 661 W. Liberty Street Unit A, Wauconda, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol April 30 on April 12 at Rugby Road. He was also cited for improper lane usage, failure to wear a safety belt and DUI over .08. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 6 court date.

Christopher A. Yaeger, 36, of 100 S. Main St. No. 16, Algonquin, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 2 on Route 22 at Hewes Drive. He was also cited for failure to signal when required and speeding. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 6 court date.

Criminal Damage

An individual reported May 4 that unknown subjects lit three garbage cans on fire in the women's restroom of a building on the 1100 block of Rose Road. Damage was estimated at $150. Police are investigating the matter.

Burglary

An individual reported May 5 that a GPS unit valued at $500 was stolen from a vehicle on the 700 block of Rose Road. The unknown offender entered the vehicle by breaking the driver's window. Police are investigating the matter.

Theft

Furniture, appliances, jewelry and clothing were reported stolen April 30 from a vacant residence on the 700 block of Summit. Police are investigating the matter.

A business on the 300 block of South Rand Road reported May 2 that an unknown male subject stole about 10 cans of baby formula, valued at $250,  from the business. Police are investigating the matter.

An individual reported May 5 that rubber mats and aluminum pipes were stolen from a business on the 100 block of East Main Street by an unknown offender. The loss is estimated at $2,100. Police are investigating the matter.

Warrant

Pierre D. Woodard, 26, of 410 W. 61st Place, Chicago, was arrested May 3 on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant for a parole violation. He was transported to the Lake County Jail.
