Police Blotter: DUI, Disorderly Conduct And A Counterfeit Bill

Lake Zurich Police report crimes from May 28-31.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DUI

Gustavo L. Lorenzana, 23, of 3514 Calwanger St., Franklin Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 29 near Routes 12 and 22. He was also cited for improper lane usage. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 27 court date.

Justine D. Kunzen, 35, of 1503 N. Beverly, Arlington Heights, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (enhanced) May 30 near Route 12 and Ela Road. She was also cited for improper lane usage and driving under the influence with a BAC over .08. She was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing.

Stanley S. Fabinski, of 246 Lynbrook Drive, Bloomingdale, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 30 on the 200 block of South Rand Road. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 27 court date.

Traffic Violations

Benjamin J. Somodji, 23, of 203 Circle Road, Fox River Grove, was charged with driving while license suspended May 27 near Route 12 and Cuba Road. He was also cited for failure to wear a safety belt. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 1 court date.
 
Nohemi K. Gomez-Morales, 24, of 2500 S. Avers Ave., Chicago, was charged with not having a valid drivers license May 28 near Route 12 and South Old Rand Road. Gomez-Morales was also cited for failure to secure a child under age 8 in a proper restraint system. Gomez-Morales was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 1 court date.

Juan E. Macedo, 19, of 109 Pine Tree Row, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license suspended May 29 near Route 12 and June Terrace. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a June 17 court date.

John K. Spears, Jr., 59, of 22375 Sterm Road, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license revoked May 29 near Route 12 and Winnetka Terrace. He was also cited for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a July 11 court date.

Warrant

A 17-year-old male from Lake Zurich was arrested May 27 on an Inverness Police Department warrant for failure to appear. He was turned over to the Inverness Police Department after being unable to post bond.

Burglary

An individual reported May 30 that an unknown individual removed a cell phone from her vehicle while it was parked on the 200 block of South Old Rand Road. The phone was valued at $100. Police are investigating the matter.

Disorderly Conduct

Jovan R. Stubbs, 30, of 201 S. Buesching Road No. 116, Lake Zurich, was charged with disorderly conduct May 31 at 201 S. Buesching Road. Jovan was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a July 6 court date.

Criminal damage

An individual reported May 30 that an unknown subject punctured the tires on her vehicle while it was parked on the 100 block of South Old Rand Road. Police are investigating the matter.

Forgery

A business owner reported May 27 that an employee at their business, located on the 800 block of South Rand Road, received a $100 counterfeit bill as payment for merchandise. Police are investigating the matter.
