Police Blotter: DUI; Concession Stand Burglarized

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from Aug. 13-15.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DUI

Sanjay V. Patel, 28, of 1226 N. Wood St., Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence Aug. 14 near Route 12 and June Terrace. Patel also was cited with improper lane use and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 12 court date.

Traffic

Saul Lurian, 29, of 208 Pine Tree Row, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license suspended Aug. 12 on the 500 block of West Highway 22. He also was cited with disobeying a traffic-control sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 2 court date.

Ross H. Boness, 27, of 400 Waterford Court, Carol Stream, was charged with no valid driver’s license Aug. 14 on the 900 block of South Rand Road. He also was cited with no valid registration and improper use of registration. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 16 court date.

Retail Theft

A 13-year-old Lake Zurich boy was charged with retail theft Aug. 13 at Walmart, 820 S. Rand Road. Police said the boy took a DVD without paying for it. Police are investigating.

Theft

A woman reported Aug. 14 that someone took her wallet while she was on the 700 block of South Rand Road. Police are investigating.

Burglary

An individual reported Aug. 12 that someone broke into the concession stand in and removed candy. The loss was estimated at $250. Police are investigating.

Criminal Damage

A man reported Aug. 12 that someone broke a window on his van while it was parked on the 1100 block of Rose Road. Police are investigating.
