Police Blotter: DUI; Battery; Stolen Champagne

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Oct. 21-26.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the . Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DUI

Rachel B. Malec, 23, of 175 W. Lake Cook Road, Palatine, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Oct. 21 near Route 12 and Wynstone Drive. She also was cited with speeding. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 14 court date.

Traffic

Jennifer J. Snyders, 40, of 465 W. Grand Ave., Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license suspended Oct. 23 on the 400 block of Ela Road. She also was cited with operating a vehicle while illegally using a cellphone and operating a vehicle with suspended registration. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 2 court date.

Jason C. Stewart, 30, of 201 S. Buesching Road, No. 228, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving while license suspended Oct. 23 near Surryse Road and Chancery Lane. He also was cited with operating a vehicle with unlawfully tinted windows. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 2 court date.

Noe Hernandez, 24, of 31 Lake St., Lake Zurich, was charged with no valid driver’s license Oct. 25 near Route 22 and June Terrace. Hernandez also was cited with disobeying a traffic-control device and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Hernandez was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 2 court date.

Battery

Adam V. Miller, 30, of 29 Park Ave., Lake Zurich, was charged with battery Oct. 22 near West Main Street and Park Avenue. He also was cited with disorderly conduct. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 21 court date.

Jeffrey T. Oliva, 31, of 1649 Eddy Lane, Lake Zurich, was charged with battery Oct. 23 on the 1600 block of Eddy Lane. He was released pending a Nov. 21 court date.

Theft

A business owner reported Oct. 20 that two unknown individuals stole nine bottles of champagne from a display stand at his business on the 300 block of South Rand Road. The loss was estimated at more than $500. Police are investigating.
