Police Blotter: Driving Under the Influence, DUIs

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

 

DUI 

Michael C. Mahon, 35, 3113 Midway Drive, Island Lake,  was arrested during a traffic stop on Route 12 at Bailey Lane, 12:19 a.m., May 22.  Mahon was charged with two felony counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked driver’s license, illegal transportation of open alcohol and improper lane usage.  Mahon was in custody pending a bond hearing.

On May 22, at 4:04 a.m., Mark J. Schaefer, 26, 34717 North Oden Ave., Ingleside, was arrested during a traffic stop on South Old Rand Road at Grever Court.  Schaefer was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage.  Schaefer was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of June 15.   

Patrick J. Bieniek, 18, 21266 Grove Drive Kildeer, was arrested for DUI during a traffic stop on Quentin Road at Route 22 at 6:19 a.m., May 20.  Bieniek failed all field sobriety tests.  Bieniek was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08, speeding and failing to wear a safety belt when required.  Bieniek was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of June 11.

On May 23, at 8:12 p.m., Reid R. Minden, 49, who resides at 22076 Chestnut Ridge in Kildeer, was arrested for driving under the influence in the 1100 block of S. Old Rand Road.  Minden was stopped for failure to wear safety belt.  Minden failed field sobriety testing.  He was charged with Failure to Wear Safety Belt, No Valid Registration, Illegal Open Transportation of an Alcoholic Beverage, Driving Under the Influence and Driving Under the Influence with a B.A.C. of .08 or More.  Minden was issued a Waukegan court date of June 25 and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond

Jessica L. Walsh, 22, who resides at 539 Woodview Rd. in Lake Barrington, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at Deerpath Road, 1:48 a.m., May 24.  Walsh was stopped due to the passenger failing to wear their safety belt.  Walsh failed field sobriety testing. Walsh was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Driving Under the Influence with a B.A.C. of .08 or More.  Walsh was issued a Waukegan court date of June 25 and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond 

On May 24, at 4:21 a.m., Francisco Dorado, 27, who resides at 2046 S. Elmhurst Rd. in Mount Prospect, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at Route 22.  Dorado was stopped for failure to wear his safety belt.  Dorado failed field sobriety testing.  Dorado was charged with Failure to Wear Safety Belt, Improper Lane Usage, Driving Under the Influence and Driving Under the Influence with a B.A.C. of .08 or More.  Dorado was issued a Waukegan court date of June 25 and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.
