Police Blotter: Damaged Mailboxes And Lawn Elf Stolen

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from June 11-13.

The Lake Zurich Police Department listed the following incidents among its official reports. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DUI

Robert P. Dillon, 50, of 57660 ½ Nixon Run Road, Martins Ferry, Ohio, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol June 11 near Route 12 and Cuba Road. He also was cited with improper lane usage and unlawful possession of cannabis. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a July 11 court date.

Jeryl A. Grosche, 53, of 15 Carolyn Court, Lake Zurich, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol June 12 on the 100 block of Parkway Avenue. Grosche also was cited with illegal transportation of an alcoholic beverage and resisting a peace officer. He was release on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a July 11 court date.

Drugs

Kyle D. Post, 20, of 145 S. Hickory St., Palatine, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis June 11 on the 100 block of North Old Rand Road. He also was cited with having illegal handlebars on a motorcycle and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 1 court date.

Traffic

Alex Molina Santiago, 25, of 1530 Brentwood Drive, Round Lake Beach, was charged with driving while license revoked June 12 near Route 12 and Bailey Lane. He also was cited with driving with no headlights. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 1 court date.

Criminal damage

Three residents reported damaged mailboxes June 11 on the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Sandy Pass Road. Damage estimates range from $30 to $110. Police are investigating the matter.

A resident reported June 12 that an unknown person damaged her mailbox on the 900 block of Manchester Road. Damage was estimated at $30. The matter is under investigation.

A resident reported June 12 that an unknown person damaged the large picture window of her residence on the 100 block of North Pleasant Road by shooting the window with a B.B. gun. Damage was estimated at $500. Police are investigating the matter.

Theft

A resident reported June 12 that someone stole her mailbox and post from her residence on the 700 block of Windemere Lane. The mailbox and post were valued at $100. Police are investigating the matter.

A resident reported June 10 that someone stole a lawn elf valued at $50 from his yard in the 100 block of Beaubien Court. Police are investigating the matter.
