Police Blotter: Controlled Substance, Traffic Arrests

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests and crimes from April 3-6.

Traffic

Juan Rojas, 28, of 4119 Jennifer Lane No. 1B, Arlington Heights, was charged with driving while license suspended April 2 near Route 12 and Wilmette Terrace. He was also cited for failure to secure a child in a proper restraint system. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a May 2 court date.

Controlled Substance

Edward J. Hoevermann, 45, of 826 Indigo Court, Lake Zurich, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance at his residence. He was also cited for unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the life of a child. He was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing.

Retail Theft

Meredith J. Dunleavy, 40, of 675 Surf Terrace, Wauconda, was charged with retail theft April 5 on the 500 block of South Rand Road. Police said she took $71.70 worth of merchandise without paying for the items. She was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a May 4 court date.

Theft

A man reported April 5 that someone stole a hood ornament from his vehicle while it was parked on the 300 block of Church Street.

An individual reported April 4 that someone rented equipment valued at $680 from a business on the 300 block of West Highway 22 and failed to return the equipment.
