Police Blotter: Clothing, Thread and Buttons Stolen from Stores

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from Sept. 27-29.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the . Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Alcohol

Sara R. Tomovick, 45, of 21 Wedgewood, Hawthorn Woods, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sept. 28 on the 600 block of South Rand Road. She was also cited for driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08, failure to signal when required and child endangerment. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 24 court date.

Traffic

Mario Alvaree-Garcia, 44, of 937 Glencoe Terrace, Lake Zurich, was charged with not having a valid drivers license Sept. 27 near Routes 12 and 22. He was also cited for disobeying a traffic control signal. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 4 court date.

Retail Theft

Brandon K. Ryckman, 31, of 152 Prairie View Ave., Grayslake, was charged with retail theft Sept. 26 on the 600 block of South Rand Road. Police said he took thread and buttons valued at $10 without paying for them. Police said Ryckman also yelled inappropriate comments at customers in the store. In addition to the retail theft charge, Ryckman was cited for disorderly conduct. He was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 4 court date.

Giftner Daniel, 21, of 4029 S. University Ave., Chicago, was charged with retail theft Sept. 26 on the 600 block of North Rand Road. Police said he took clothing valued at $70 without paying for it. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 24 court date.
