Police Blotter: Cannabis Possession and Warrants Served
These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.
Cannibis Possession
On May 18, at 5:59 p,m., Michael J. Del Boccio, 53, 26651 North Anderson Rd., Wauconda, was arrested for possession of cannabis during a traffic stop on Route 12 at North Old Rand Road. Del Boccio’s vehicle smelled like burnt cannabis. Del Boccio was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and failing to wear a safety belt when required. Del Boccio was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of July 6.
Caroline J. Stray, 18, 3519 Washington Street McHenry, was arrested for driving while license suspended, May 19, during a traffic stop on Route 12 at Wilmette Terrace. Stray was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended driver’s license. Chaya N. Hartman, 18, 2314 Fenview Circle Island Lake, and a third subject, a 17 year old female from McHenry, were also arrested after a consent search revealed they were in possession of cannabis. Hartman was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis. Stray was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of June 11. Hartman was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of July 11. The juvenile was released to a parent with court action pending.

On May 13, at 6:22 p.m., Samuel Vazquez, 24, 1010 Brush Hill Lane, Lake Zurich, was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 22 at South Old Rand Road. Vazquez was charged with failing to wear a safety belt when required, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving with a suspended driver’s license and unlawful possession of cannabis. Vazquez was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of June 1.
Warrants Served

Francisco Medrano, 33, who resides at 672 Minerva Avenue in Wauconda, was arrested on a warrant in the 100 block of North Rand Road in Lake Zurich, May 15. Medrano was wanted on a Failure to Appear warrant out of Lake County. The warrant number is W0812154 and it is a no bond warrant. Medrano was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing.
Preston H. Brown, 29, 1930 Elm Court #2B, Hanover Park, was arrested, May 15, at 201 South Buesching Road on a failure-to-appear warrant issued by Lake County. Brown was released after posting $1,075.00 USC. Brown has a Waukegan court date of May 30.
Gregory D. Pedersen, 20, 1309 West Hill Street, Palatine, was arrested, May 12, pursuant to the investigation of a retail theft on a warrant for trespassing, retail theft and possession of alcohol by a minor issued by McHenry County. Pedersen was unable to post $400 USC. Pedersen was transported to the McHenry County Jail.
