Police Blotter: Cannabis Possession and Traffic Arrests

RETAIL THEFT                                                          

Yara M. Cabral, 45, who resides at 347 Chaparral Circle in Elgin, was arrested for retail theft at 675 North Rand Road in Lake Zurich.  Cabral was charged with one count of local Retail Theft.  Cabral was issued a Mundelein court date of Oct. 5 and released on a $120 personal recognizance bond.

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS                                   

Colin B. Steiger, 19, who resides at 670 Red Bridge Road was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis in the 500 block of Red Bridge Road in Lake Zurich, at 10:14 p.m., Sept. 27.  Steiger was charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Steiger was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing. 

TRAFFIC ARREST (DWLS)                                   

Alex A. Ceballos, 23, who resides at 1645 N. 23Rd Avenue in Melrose Park, was arrested for driving while driver’s license is suspended on Route 12 at Miller Road in Lake Zurich, Sept. 27.  Ceballos was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended.  Ceballos was issued a Mundelein court date of Nov. 2 and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond. 

TRAFFIC ARREST (No Valid)                   

On Sept. 25, Benjamin Gonzalez, 50, 3613 Lakeview Drive, Island Lake, was arrested pursuant to the investigation of a traffic crash in the 300 block of South Rand Road.  Gonzalez was charged with following too closely, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving without a valid driver’s license.  Gonzalez was released on a $2,000. personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of Nov. 2.

TRAFFIC ARREST (Revoked)                   

John J. Miotke, 35, 301 Oak Grove Drive, Wauconda, was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at June Terrace, June 25.  Miotke was charged with driving with a revoked driver’s license.  Miotke was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of Nov. 2.

TRAFFIC ARREST (Suspended)   

Ana C. Huicochea, 22, 24241 North Route 12; Lake Zurich,  was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop in the 100 block of Church Street, Sept. 25.  Huicochea was charged with disobeying a traffic control device and driving with a suspended driver’s license.  Huicochea was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of Nov. 2
