Police Blotter: Briefcase Stolen; Vehicle Damaged

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Nov. 8-11.

Traffic

Erika Y. Hernandez, 23, of 1261 Inverrary, Palatine, was charged with driving without a valid drivers license Nov. 7 near Ela Road and Route 12. She was also cited for speeding. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 2 court date.

Wayne R. Brueckman, 52, of 14002 Newton Road, Valders, Wis., was charged with driving while license suspended Nov. 7 on the 800 block of West Route 22. He was also cited for failure to wear a safety belt when required. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending Dec. 7 court date.

Yorel Araujo, 23, of 85 Park Ave., Lake Zurich, was charged with driving without a valid drivers license Nov. 10 on the 600 block of East Highway 22. Araujo was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and not having valid registration. Araujo was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 16 court date.

Theft

A man reported Nov. 9 that someone stole his briefcase and wallet after he left the items in the lobby of a business on the 900 block of South Rand Road. The loss was estimated at $137. Police are investigating.

Criminal Damage to Property

A man reported Nov. 10 that someone smashed the back window of his vehicle while it was parked on the 100 block of Golfview Road. Damage was estimated at $600. Police are investigating.
