Police Blotter: Aggravated DUI and Driving on Suspended License

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

TRAFFIC ARREST (DUI-ENHANCED)

Manuel Hernandez, 50, who resides at 1 Summit Terrace in Lake Zurich, was arrested for driving under the influence on Golfview Road at Pine Tree Row, at 7:21 p.m., Nov. 26. Hernandez was called in as a possible DUI driver. Hernandez was stopped for failure to signal when required. Hernandez failed field sobriety testing. Hernandez was charged with Failure to Signal When Required, Illegal Transportation of an Alcoholic Beverage and Aggravated Driving Under the Influence. Hernandez was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing.

 

TRAFFIC ARREST (DUI) 

Brooklynne R. Pellegrini, 18, 805 Burr Oak, Lake Zurich, was arrested for DUI pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Winnetka Terrace, at 11:24 p.m., Nov. 24. Pellegrini failed all field sobriety tests. Pellegrini was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a B.A.C. over .08, driver’s license not on person, improper lane use, use of a computer device while driving, and possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis. Pellegrini was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of Dec. 17.

 

TRAFFIC ARREST (DWLS) 

John M. Scandiff, 56, who resides at 4413 Shore Drive in McHenry, was arrested for driving while driver’s license is suspended in the 200 block of S. Rand Road. A random registration check indicated the registered owner possessed a suspended driver’s license. Scandiff was charged with Registration Suspended for Non-Insurance and Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended. Scandiff as issued a Mundelein court date of Dec. 7 and released on a $3,000.00 personal recognizance bond.

Silvestre NMI Guerrero, 21, who resides at 905 Winnetka Terrace #4 in Lake Zurich,  was arrested for driving while driver’s license is suspended in the 700 block of Ela Road in Lake Zurich, Nov. 20. Guerrero was charged with Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended. Guerrero was issued a Mundelein court date of Jan. 4 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

Jeryl A. Grosche, 54, who resides at 15 Carolyn Court in Lake Zurich, was arrested for driving while driver’s license is suspended on Route 12 at June Terrace in Lake Zurich, Nov. 20. Grosche was charged with Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended. Grosche was issued a Mundelein court date of Dec. 7 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

Wow, this story really shows how selfish some people are now. The person who complained to theRead More police better hope he/she never needs any help or compassion from anyone or any organization. They don't deserve it. You were trying to have a great event and some hater couldn't put earplugs in their ears for one night of their life if they didn't like the noise. So sad. Way to go for your efforts though! Bob
