One Dead, Two Injured in Route 83 Crash

UPDATE SEPT. 6, 4 P.M.:
The Lake County Coroner's Office has released the identity of the woman killed in a crash near Route 83 and Westmoreland in Long Grove Thursday evening.

Jeewon Kim, 47, of Buffalo Grove, sustained multiple traumatic injuries in the crash, said Lake County Senior Deputy Coroner Orlando Portillo.

Portillo said Kim's daughter was a passenger in the Honda. She was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center for further treatment, Portillo said.


ORIGINAL STORY:
A woman was killed in a crash near Route 83 and Westmorelandin Long Grove Thursday evening when her vehicle collided with a red 2007 Ford F150.

The woman, whose name is being withheld pending proper notification, was driving a blue 2011 Honda CRV, according to Sgt. Sara Balmes with the Lake County Sheriff's Office. The female passenger in the Honda was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with life-threatening injuries, Balmes said.

The male driver of the Ford was also transported to Advocate Condell, said Balmes.

The accident is under investigation.
