Mailboxes, Windows and Vehicles Damaged

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from Nov. 23-28.

These incidents were listed among the official reports of the . Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Lake Zurich police received several reports of criminal damage to property between Nov. 24 and Nov. 27.

The reports ranged from mailbox damage to a window being broken with a bat or ax. Police are investigating the following incidents:

  • A woman reported Nov. 24 that someone poured an unknown substance into her vehicle's gas tank while the vehicle was parked on the 200 block of Buesching Road. 
  • A woman reported Nov. 25 that someone scratched her vehicle with a sharp object while it was parked on the 300 block of South Rand Road.
  • A woman reported Nov. 26 that an unknown vehicle struck her mailbox on the 1200 block of Berkshire Lane. Damage was estimated at $100.
  • A man reported Nov. 26 that an unknown vehicle struck his mailbox on the 1200 block of Berkshire Lane, causing $100 in damage.
  • A resident reported Nov. 26 that someone threw an unknown object at a glass window on the 800 block of Oakwood Road. Damage was estimated at $250.
  • An individual reported Nov. 26 that an unknown vehicle struck the speed limit post on the 1200 block of Berkshire Lane, causing $150 in damage.
  • An individual reported Nov. 27 that someone broke a window on the 400 block of Telser Road with a bat or an ax on Nov. 25.
