LZPD Citizen Police Academy Makes a Comeback

Applications available to residents age 21 and over for the fall session.

Lake Zurich Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy is returning after a two year sabbatical to open up the world of law enforcement to residents.

The Citizen Police Academy begins Sept. 10 and runs through Nov. 12 at the police station, 200 Mohawk Trail.

Residents age 21 and over will learn about firearms training, defensive moves, traffic enforcement, criminal investigations and crime scene processing.

Sessions are held every Tuesday between 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Applications are available on the police department’s website. The deadline for applications is Aug. 28.
