Lake Zurich Police: Three Arrested on DUI Charges

Police release reports from July 28 to Aug. 4.

Note: The following information was obtained from the Lake Zurich police department. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

Criminal damage to a vehicle

A woman told police someone scratched her vehicle with a sharp object while it was parked in the 200 block of Main Street on Aug. 4, according to reports. The damage was estimated at $400.

Criminal damage to vehicle

Someone smashed the windows of a car, causing $600 in damage, as it was parked in the 200 S. Buesching Road on Aug. 4, police said.

Criminal damage to property

Oskar J. Zielinski, 19, of 613 Scott Court, Fox Lake, was arrested for criminal damage to property at 1030 Commerce Drive on Aug. 2, police said.

DUI, warrants

Clifford S. Vandeburg, 30, of3200 W. Fulton, Chicago, was arrested for driving under the influence, attempted obstruction of justice and fleeing and eluding on July 30, police said. He was stopped at Route 12 at Honey Lake Road and also charged with speeding, improper lane usage and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, reports stated. He was released on $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Sept. 9 in Waukegan. Vandeburg was also wanted on several warrants, one for unlawful possession of a controlled substance from Bloomingdale police and one for obstructing police out of Palatine. He was transferred to Palatine Police Department.

Burglary to motor vehicle

Police reported someone took his backpack from an unlocked vehicle parked on Millbrook Drive at Hobble Bush on July 31, police said. The estimated loss is valued at $280.

Thefts

Two women reported separate incidents on July 28 where cash was stolen from their lockers in the 600 block of South Rand Road, police said. The thefts are under investigation.

DUI arrest

Krystal A. Curtis, 25, of 670 Nantucket Way, Island Lake, was arrested for driving under the influence and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of .08 on July 29, police said. She was also charged with speeding after she was stopped on Route 12 and Route 22. Curtis was issued a court date of Aug. 5 in Waukegan and was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond. 

DUI arrest

Ryan P. Farrell, 23, of 202 N. Ronda Road, McHenry, was arrested for driving under the influence and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more, police said. He was also charged with improper lane usage and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, reports stated. Farrell was arrested July 29 at Route 12 and Ela Road. Farrell was issued a court date of Aug. 5 in the City of Waukegan and was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.
