Lake Zurich Police: Traffic Stop Leads to Cannabis Bust

Police reports from the weekend of Sept. 7-8 include retail theft, DUI and criminal damage to property.

Unlawful possession

Reyes Atilano, 33, of resides at 804 E. Castle Court, Palatine, was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis, more than 30 grams, on Quentin Road at Route 22 on Sept. 7, police said. The charge is a class 4 felony, police said.

Retail theft

Rajean C. Johnson, 39, of 287 Fairway Road in Lake Zurich, was arrested for retail theft at 820 S. Rand Road on Sept. 7, police said.  Johnson reportedly removed merchandise without paying for the items, estimated at $87, police said. Johnson was issued a Waukegan court date of Oct. 14 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

DUI arrest

Shannon N. Einwalter, 31, of 516 N. Center St., Naperville, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at Miller Road on Sept. 8, police said. Einwalter was also charged with improper lane usage. Einwalter was issued a court date of Oct. 21 in Waukegan and was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond. 

Criminal damage to property

Kody J. Schaar, 19, of 1300 Country Club Road in Lake Zurich, was arrested for criminal damage to property at 820 S. Rand Road on Sept. 8, according to reports.  Schaar reportedly damaged merchandise in an attempt to steal it, police said.  The estimated loss is valued at $134.16. Schaar was issued a Mundelein court date of Oct. 4and released on a $120.00 personal recognizance bond.
