Lake Zurich Police: Numerous DUI Arrests over Memorial Day Weekend



Police blotter from May 28 to May 25
Note: The following information was obtained from Lake Zurich  reports. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

Traffic arrest (DUI)
Mark A. Thorne, 53, of  24014 North Valley Road, Lake Zurich, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08, operating an uninsured vehicle, illegal transportation of open alcohol and failing to wear a safety belt when required on May 27, police said. Thorne was released on a $3,000.00 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of July 1.

Retail theft
Someone took $100 worth of frozen fish from 735 WestHighway 22 in Lake Zurich on May 26, according to reports.
Traffic arrest (DUI)Michael J. Fitzgerald, 30, of 3120 W. Logan Blvd #B in Chicago, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at Clover Hill Road in Lake Zurich on May 27, police said.  Fitzgerald was also charged with speeding, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a B.A.C. of .08 or more, according to police. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a court date of July 1.  

Retail theft
A cell phone was stolen from a display at 10007 S. Rand Road on May 25, police said. The phone was valued at $369.99.

Traffic arrest  
Adam R. Gibson, 29, of 296 Walnut Avenue, Wheeling, was arrested for reckless driving on Route 12 at Route 22 in Lake Zurich on May 25, according to reports.Gibson was also charged with speeding and reckless driving, police said. He was issued a court date of July 12 in Mundelein and was released on a $2,000.00 personal recognizance bond.  

Traffic arrest (DUI)           
Ismael Hernandez, 36, of 402 W. Touhy Avenue #11, Des Plaines, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at Cuba Road in Lake Zurich on May 26, police said Hernandez was also charged with improper lane usage, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a B.A.C. of .08 or more, reports stated. He was issued a court date of July 1 in Waukegan and was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.  

Traffic arrest (DUI)
Eric W. Bockelmann (32 yoa) who resides at 146 Kincaid Drive in Lake Zurich, was arrested for driving under the influence on N. Old Rand Road at Main Street in Lake Zurich on May 26, police said.  Bockelmann was charged with operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and driving under the influence of alcohol.  Bockelmann was issued a court date of June 17 inWaukegan and was released on a $3,000.00 personal recognizance bond, police said.

Traffic arrest (DUI)
Jerry S. Kildew, 37, of 5506 West Valley Drive, Richmond, was stopped May 25 at Route 12 in Wynstone Drive for a traffic stop and was arrested with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 and improper lane usage, police said.  Kildew was released on a $3,000.00 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of 06-17-13.
Traffic arrest (DUI)
Timothy C. Shaw, 22, of 15 Shady Lane, Deer Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08, improper lane usage, unlawful use of an electronic device while operating a vehicle, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia on May 25, police said. Shaw was released on a $3,000.00 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of June 6.
