Lake Zurich Police: Man Reports Someone Took Vehicle, Drove to Local Store

Police reports for the week of Aug. 19.

Note: The following information was obtained from the Lake Zurich Police Department. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

A resident reported a subject entered his unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of Waterford Drive and drove it to a store without permission on Aug. 19, police said.  A suspect has been identified.  This matter is pending further investigation.

Someone smashed the rear window and punctured two tires on a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of Ensell Road on Aug. 19, police said.

Retail theft

Alvaro L. Aguilar, 24, of 403 Hickory #2 in Mundelein, was arrested for retail theft at 725 W. Hwy 22 on Aug. 19, according to reports.  Aguilar removed a pair of sunglasses, valued at $42.99, without paying for the item, police said. Aguilar was issued a Mundelein court date of Sept. 2 and released on a $120.00 personal recognizance bond.
