Lake Zurich Police: iPads, iPods Stolen, Child Endangerment Reported

Police reports include theft arrest, burglary and DUI charge.

Note: The following information was obtained from the Lake Zurich police department. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

Electronics missing

Two iPads and four iPods were stolen from an administrative area at 435 Cuba Road on July 11, police said. The time of the theft is not known.  The complainant was unable to provide any suspect information.

Retail theft arrest

Evelyn J. Garvin, 20, 150 Rainbow Road, North Barrington, was arrested for retail theft at 820 South Rand Road on July 11, police said.  Garvin took $36.76 worth of merchandise without paying for it, reports stated. She was later released on a $120 personal recognizance bond with a Mundelein court date of Aug. 2.

Child endangerment reported

Kenyatta I. Williams, 31, 201 S. Buesching Road #228, Lake Zurich, was arrested on two counts of endangering the life of a child on July 9, police said. Williams was issued a Waukegan court date of Aug. 12 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond. 

Vehicle burglary

Golf clubs and an iPod were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 900 block of Holly Circle on July 9, according to reports. The value was estimated at $775.00, police said.

Retail theft

Meredith J. Dunleavy, 41, 675 Surf Terrace, Wauconda, was arrested for retail theft at 670 S. Rand Road on July 9, police said.   Dunleavy took merchandise valued at $110.65 without paying for it, according to police. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Waukegan court date of July 24.

Theft

Someone removed cash from a register, without permission, at 58 N. Old Rand Road on July 9, reports sated. Police did not have details on how much money was missing but are investigating.

DUI

Bernardino Cruz, 40, 8835 Sayre Avenue, Morton Grove, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence on July 8, police said. Cruz was also charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol while revoked, enhanced driving with a revoked driver’s license and operating a vehicle with one tail lamp, reports stated.
