Police said a rumor that a student brought a weapon to Lake Zurich High School Monday turned out to be unfounded, according to the Daily Herald.
The Lake Zurich Police Department sent extra officers to the high school Monday after a parent called to inform police the rumor was spreading throughout the school after a student overheard a conversation in the bathroom and and "misinterpreted it as a threat of violence," according to the article.
