Lake Zurich Police: DUI Enforcement Nabs 4 Drivers

Lake Zurich Police made four impaired driving arrests over the weekend as its Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign continues through the holiday weekend.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is a statewide effort to curb impaired driving leading up to and including the Labor Day holiday.

Lake Zurich police have had seven DUI arrests since the enforcement campaign began on Aug. 16, Deputy Chief Kevin Finlon said.

Those arrested over the weekend are:

  • Michael T. Lesniak, 31, of 1293 Briarwood Lane, Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs in the area of Route 22 and Quentin Road on Aug. 24, police said. Lesniak was stopped after being involved in a traffic crash, reports stated. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.
  • John E. Koeneman, 58, of 175 Miller Road, North Barrington, was arrested on a DUI charge on Aug. 25, according to reports. He was stopped at Route12 and Honey Lake Road for speeding, and then failed a field sobriety test, police said. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.  
  • Generoso Trombetta, 44, of 510 Lincoln Street, Roselle, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on Aug. 25, police said. Trombetta was stopped at Route 12 and Cuba Road for improper lane usage, reports stated. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.  
  •  Branden A. Wright, 26, of 1726 Birch Place, Schaumburg, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on Aug. 25 at Route 12 and Cuba Road, police said. Wright was also charged with improper lane usages and illegal use of an electronic device, police said. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.
